Max Payne

PC GAME REVIEW posted on 31 AUG 2001 by Scott Parrino

To put this as simply as possible, Max Payne is the best crafted and polished 3D action shooter to ever be released. The game delivers on every fancy feature, and completely engrosses the gamer with intoxicating gameplay. This is a must have for any action gamer.

Half-Life: Blue Shift

PC GAME REVIEW posted on 1 JUL 2001 by Scott Parrino

Deja vu. I'm on a long tram ride down into the bowels of Black Mesa, the top secret research facility made famous in the classic Half-Life. Interview with Tropico's Phil Steinmeyer

INTERVIEW posted on 18 MAR 2001 by Scott Parrino

Phil Steinmeyer is the designer of the upcoming strategy game Tropico. Gamers will assume the post of ruling a small island nation. As the leader you will have both character advantages and flaws. The game itself will be similar to SimCity in regards to the level of control you can be exercise. It should feature many avenues to success and many differing elements to juggle in attaining that success.

From the much beleaguered developer Ion Storm, Deus Ex proves that a phoenix can rise from the ashes (Daikatana is now officially a “bad dream”). Featuring an intriguing storyline and a highly interactive universe, populated with literally hundreds of characters, this game has preceded “eating” and “sleeping” on my “things to do” list.

Emergency Rescue: Firefighters

PC GAME REVIEW posted on 23 JUN 2000 by Scott Parrino

Overall, Emergency Rescue: Firefighters is a significantly disappointing attempt at depicting what should be a very dynamic, complex, and exciting situation to simulate and explore. Fires and emergencies occur all around us every day, and one day our own life and property may be threatened by situations depicted in this game, so the subject matter couldn't be more profound and universal.
